Sara Jimenez will lead visitors on a guided walkthrough of Folding Field, her project of site-specific sculptures installed in and around several of Wave Hill’s iconic trees, followed by a reception for artists featured in the group exhibition, Trees we breathe . The Sunroom Project Space includes two indoor installations by Sonja John and Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya , and the Glyndor Terrace Garden has an outdoor, interactive sculpture by SuRan Song & William M. In this book, he invites everyone to journey through a collection of short stories that reflect his perspective on growing up in the Brentwood area of Harrison. It is a place that shaped his early years and influenced the person he would become. These stories are woven together by memories from his childhood in the 1960s, offering glimpses into a world filled with friendships, laughter, and experiences that defined his youth. Within these pages, one will find not only his recollections but also photographs and narratives that were once featured in local newspapers, capturing moments of community and connection.

An Evening with Dar Williams

Folk legend and Westchester native Dar Williams is known for her impactful lyrics and an influence on today’s folk music scene. Rising out of the vibrant mid-90s Boston scene, her successful career as a singer-songwriter spans over 25 years. Williams’s success took off after Joan Baez, a key figure in folk music, claimed Dar Williams to be a “folk artist worthy of attention.” Her style is inspired by the eclectic influences of alt-rockers, Berklee jazz musicians, slam poets, and folk artists like Patty Griffith, Melissa Ferrick, the Throwing Muses, Vance Gilbert, and Jonathan Brooke. Sprint to Flint
It’s time for local runners to lace up their sneakers again because Sprint to Flint is back at Flint Park in Larchmont on Friday, June 13. For the second year in a row, the race will feature a Tots Walk & Run (a 200 meter dash for the youngest runners) in addition to the one mile and 5K race. As in year’s past, there will be live music along the route, a post-race party with pizza, a DJ, and, of course, an awards ceremony. The Tots Run for children age 6 and under begins at 6 PM, the one mile race at 6:30 PM, and the 5K at 7:15 PM. The event will be held rain or shine.
