The Larchmont Chamber Celebrates the New Year, a New President, and Wraps Up a Successful Holiday Season
The Larchmont Chamber of Commerce had a lot to celebrate at its most recent meeting hosted at the local store and gallery, Atelier Modern. The Chamber closed 2024 with its biggest initiative, Sleighbells on the Avenues, a series of free events organized by the Larchmont Chamber and supported by local merchants during the holiday season. An annual favorite among residents and county-wide neighbors, this year’s festivities added more elements and refined traditional events. New programming added a free Trolley and Sip & Shop to Small Business Saturday as well as offering the “Shop Larchmont” loyalty program throughout December. The annual Wishing Wall was created by local artist Jill Krutick who painted a piece that was thematically inspired by light in honor of all traditions: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and New Year. The piece was hung at Atelier Modern throughout December and residents could write their wishes on bright pieces of paper that were incorporated into the installation.
The Junior League of Westchester on the Sound, The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions Club, Fields for Kids, and Autism Speaks each decorated a tree sponsored by a local business and based on the 2024 theme: It’s a Wonder-ful Life in Larchmont, with the Girl Scouts taking the prize. Wonder, a new kind of food hall, sponsored the event, and local manager, Bruno Dauti, presented the $500 prize to Pat Allen on behalf of the Girl Scouts.
Not all of the meeting was retrospective. New Chamber President Gina Proia talked about the Board’s goals for 2025, which include improving communication and collaboration and creating strategic opportunities for members to learn, connect, and thrive as part of the broader Larchmont community.
Also on hand at the meeting were Jen Dorf Wellness, Roots 2 Rise, and Wonder who all provided delicious nibbles such as salads and soups to members in order to kickstart a healthy new year. For others who were still feeling celebratory, Post Wine & Spirits provided libations! The Chamber’s next meeting is via Zoom on Feb 11.
