Sprint to Flint is Back

The Sprint to Flint is an annual community running event that takes place in the heart of the Village of Larchmont in early summer. Not just a race, it’s a true summer party along the iconic route that weaves its way around Larchmont Manor. After their dash around the local neighborhood, runners and walkers make their way back to Flint Park for live music, pizza, and summer fruits.

Sprint to Flint traces its roots back to the 70s. After a long hiatus, the event was resurrected in 2012 by legendary race director, Carolyn Lee and grew from just 300 participants to over 900 participants at its peak in 2019. After a pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has been back since 2022 when, after 9 years as race director, Carolyn passed the torch to local runner Rachel Thompson, who is also the co-organizer of local community running club, Larchmont Track Club.

The plans for this year are for Spring to Flint to be bigger and better than ever. The race will be held on Friday, June 14. This year, there will be an inaugural “tots race” – a 200-yard dash around Flint Park for the younger runners in the community who are six and under, which will take place at 6:00 p.m. The 1-mile race will begin at  6:30 p.m., and the 5K race will begin at 7:15 p.m.
