Larchmont’s new bagel shop, Empire Bagels, is so much more than just a place to buy bagels and muffins, freshly baked daily on the premises. It is a go-to locale for breakfast, lunch, coffees, etc.

You are instantly impressed by the warmth of the staff, from the store manager, Beverly Guerra, to her team. They are welcoming with a smile, efficient, and really seem to enjoy working together while providing excellent service and delicious fare.

Now this is where the ‘Heart’ comes in. One day, while in conversation with a customer who mentioned that she volunteers with HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle scheduling meals, Beverly had a thought. As one of the missions of HOPE is to provide meals daily from Monday through Friday to individuals who are experiencing food insecurity perhaps Empire Bagel could play a part. Bagels that are not sold by the end of the day have to be disposed of by the store. So, instead of having them go to waste, Beverly and the owner of Empire Bagels, Jay D’Angelo, donate these baked goods to HOPE. 

Empire Bagels is located on Larchmont Avenue diagonally opposite the Chatsworth Avenue School playground.
