Biking Across America for a Good Cause

Theodore Baxter, a 10th-grade student, is currently training for a summer challenge that will have him “Bike Across America.” From June 25 to August 7th, the Mamaroneck resident will bike from Savannah, Georgia, to Santa Monica, California, to raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. This inspiring act is driven by his wish to honor a fellow French American School student in Larchmont, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital.
Baxter is biking with a group of approximately 10 teens that he has never met with Overland, an experience / camp group. With a love of biking, he has been training for this adventure for the last 8 weeks and has been very rigorous about it. He has already raised $15, 000 and wishes to raise $25, 000 for the cause.
“I’ve been wanting to take on this challenge for some years now and I finally have the opportunity to do it. About a year ago, when I heard that a friend of mine had cancer, I felt the urge to help in any possible way. Being able to challenge myself and contribute to raising money for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering is a fantastic experience,” Baxter noted.
