Dr. Shaps Announces New Staff, New Roles
By Dr. Robert I. Shaps
Superintendent of Schools
As indicated previously, Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Personnel Dr. Jeremy Barker will conclude his tenure with the District to assume a leadership position at The Ursuline School. I recommended to the Board that Dr. Claire Reinhard transition into this Central Office position and Jesse Dancy move over to Dr. Reinhard’s role, effective July 1, 2022. These Personnel adjustments add to the changes announced at a past Board meeting.
Dr. Claire Reinhard as Interim Asst. Supt. for Administration and Personnel – Dr. Reinhard has been serving as the Director of Research, Assessment and Accountability since she joined the District in 2018. She also assumed the role of Elementary Remote Academy Director in Spring, 2021 and served as Acting Human Resources Administrator for a short period during the 2021-22 school year. Throughout her time in Mamaroneck, Dr. Reinhard has played a leadership role in many District initiatives. Her knowledge of the District and strength in systems thinking will serve her well in this position.
Jesse Dancy as Interim Director of Research, Assessment and Accountability . Jesse Dancy, who began her Mamaroneck career teaching social studies at Hommocks Middle School in 2007, has been serving as an instructional technology coach (currently Director of Instructional Technology and Digital Equity) since 2015. In her new role, she will focus on using data and technology to advance equity and family engagement.
