Monday, August 17, 2026, 12:13 PM: A Cherry Avenue resident told police that she lost more than $100,000 to scammers who told her that her bank accounts were being hacked and they needed wire transfers and Zelle payments to resolve the problem.
Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 7:14 AM: Two backpacks were reported stolen overnight from a work van parked in the driveway of a home on Concord Avenue. The van was locked, but the drivers side and passenger windows were rolled down. One backpack contained a wallet with identification, debit and credit cards, and about $800 in cash. Police later found one of the backpacks and the wallet, with the cash missing.
Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 7:45 AM: A Chatsworth Avenue homeowner reported that a Microsoft Surface Pro laptop, cell phone chargers and about $20 in cash was stolen overnight from unlocked vehicles in her driveway.
Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 9:20 AM: An unlocked vehicle on Woodbine Avenue was reported ransacked and a wallet with $20 cash, Italian passport, New York State driver’s license, debit card and credit card were taken. Police later found the wallet in bushes on the corner of Woodbine and Beach Avenues, and the $20 was gone.
Saturday, August 22, 2026, 10:43 PM: A Larchmont resident reported that teens in a Tesla threw an egg at her daughter as she walked near Summit Avenue, then drove away.
Monday, August 31, 2026, 11:47 AM: An Oak Avenue homeowner told police that her neighbor leaves empty bottles of Johnnie Walker Black and other alcohol on her property and showed them photos that included a receipt with his name on it. After reviewing the photos, police said the bottles were not on her property.
Wednesday, September 2, 2026, 8:16 AM: A driver who passed a red light at the intersection of Chatsworth and Forest Park Avenues was given a verbal warning by police.
Thursday, September 3, 2026, 6:56 PM: The manager of the Larchmont Yacht Club, 1 Woodbine Avenue, reported that a suspicious bag possibly containing remains was found on the property. Police stated the bag contained rotten fish.
Thursday, September 3, 2026, 8:21 PM: A motorist with an expired inspection sticker was given a verbal warning by police after a traffic stop on Larchmont Avenue.
Friday, September 4, 2026, 7:10 PM: Police gave a verbal warning to a driver who made a U-turn on Boston Post Road, then gave a warning to another driver who made a U-turn at the same location eight minutes later.
Saturday, September 5, 2026, 10:11 AM: The Larchmont Fire Department responded to a fire alarm triggered by a smoke detector in a home on Linden Avenue. Firefighters broke down the front door and extinguished a small fire. No one was home at the time.
Saturday, September 5, 2026, 8:35 PM: Police questioned a group of youths who started a fire behind the baseball field in Pine Brook Park, who told police they wanted to roast marshmallows. The fire was extinguished and they were released to their parents.
Sunday, September 6, 2026, 10:35 AM: The owner of a Toyota Tacoma told police that he drove about three feet over the curb while he parked in a municipal lot on Wendt Avenue. He put the car in reverse, but was not able to back it over the curb. Police had a tow truck move the vehicle, and then ticketed the driver for parking outside space markings.
Friday, September 11, 2026, 9:40 PM: Police were called to CVS, 21 Chatsworth Avenue, when a group of youths caused a disturbance by tampering with locked display cases and repeatedly pressing a customer service button. When a CVS employee told them to leave if they were not going to purchase anything, the youths became belligerent and stated, “Is it your job to watch little kids?” Police escorted the youths home and told them not to return to CVS.
Monday, September 14, 2026, 3:22 PM: The office manager of A and J Plumbing and Heating Supplies, 2420 Boston Post Road, reported that a credit card used to order a $4,500 boiler manifold kit turned out to be fraudulent.
Wednesday, September 16, 2026, 2:42 PM: A Larchmont man reported that he was a victim of a check-washing scam after mailing a check from the Larchmont Post Office. A $4,115.32 check made out to pay a Chase credit card bill was altered to pay “Iris Dimaris Pagan Morales.” Another fraudulent check for $1,500 was created to pay a different recipient.
Friday, September 18, 2026, 4:15 PM: A 50-year-old woman was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone after a traffic stop on Boston Post Road.
Sunday, September 19, 2026, 7:07 AM: A masked man wearing all black clothing was observed using a long, thin metal object to fish an envelope out of the mailbox in front of the U.S. Post Office, 1 Chatsworth Avenue, Larchmont. The man drove away in a Mercedes/Benz SUV.
