Memorial Day Parade Back After 2 Years

By Mayor Lorraine Walsh
On Thursday, May 26, we remembered those who gave their lives in service to our country with the Larchmont Mamaroneck Memorial Day Parade. It was great to be back after a 2-year hiatus. Thanks to Carol Casazza Herman for being an excellent Grand Marshal, to Joyce Callahan for organizing the entire parade including the hot dogs afterward, and to everyone who marched and who came out to wave.
Prior to the parade, the Board joined the LPD and LFD in the Village Hall Court Room for their first medal day ceremony since COVID. In addition to recognizing outstanding service provided by Larchmont’s bravest and finest to the residents of the Village, including lifesaving medical care and maintaining public safety, both Departments’ staff members were lauded for their efforts and accomplishments with continuity of operations and medical care during COVID-19, and rescues and responses during Hurricane Ida. Our public safety personnel strive each and every day to provide the highest level of service to our residents and visitors alike.
