What Observation Status Means in New York

Currently, there are about 64 million people in the United States who have Medicare.  Medicare is a federal health insurance program for seniors and those with disabilities and it is administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Medicare is divided into parts A, B, C, and D.  Part A covers inpatient hospital and skilled nursing care.
