Celebrating the Arts in Constitution Park
On Saturday, October 1st, the Larchmont Arts Committee and the Village of Larchmont will hold its annual Larchmont Arts Festival at Constitution Park in Larchmont from 12pm to 5pm. (Rain date is October 2nd.)
The Larchmont Arts Festival is a celebration of the local artists in the community and their creativity. The festival is an opportunity for art lovers to meet the artists and learn about their inspirations and their methods. Meeting and engaging in conversation with the artists gives a deeper meaning to the art and greater appreciation for their work.
Participating artists represent a variety of mediums including oils/acrylics/watercolors, mixed media, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and jewelry. This extensive variety of mediums, styles, and price points ensures that all visitors can discover a piece to enliven their home, be the perfect accessory for an evening out, or a one-of-a-kind gift for that special someone.
This year the LAF committee is pleased to showcase the art of Mamaroneck resident, Melinda Buie, whose inspiration comes from the cattle ranches in her home state of Texas. Ms. Buie’s work consists of large-scale oil paintings of cows from her family’s ranch in East Texas, portraits of men and women, and an architectural series. Ms. Buie’s work has been exhibited in galleries all over the USA, London, Berlin and Italy. Visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to meet Ms. Buie and see her work up close. If you ask Ms. Buie about the cattle in her paintings, you’ll find out they all have a name and a story.
The Larchmont Arts Festival is a free, family friendly event. Kids will enjoy free art activities and playing on the playground at the beautiful tree covered Constitution Park. There will be music performances throughout the day, featuring local musicians who will perform in the park pavilion.
Information for artists: Registration deadline is September 17th. All works of art must be handmade by the artist. Artists may register online: https://villageoflarchmont.org For inquires, email firstname.lastname@example.org
