Larchmont Avenue Church Supports
Local Mission Partners with Day of Service

Larchmont Ave. Church is excited to announce that after a 2-year hiatus due to COVID, their Rummage Sale is back. The sale is scheduled for April 28th-30th at Larchmont Ave. Church, located at 60 Forest Park Avenue.  The LAC Rummage Sale is well known for its selection of clothing, linens, housewares, furniture, jewelry and collectibles.   Shopping hours are Thursday, April 28th from 4pm-8pm, Friday, April 29th from 9:30am-4pm and Saturday, April 30th from 9am-noon.

The Rummage Sale is important to both LAC and the local community in many ways.  It provides low-income families and those impacted by last year’s flooding an opportunity to purchase quality items at low prices.  It also supports LAC’s mission as a newly certified “Earth Care Congregation” to care for the earth by facilitating ways to reuse and repurpose items that might otherwise be thrown away.  And, most importantly, the funds raised support grants that LAC’s Church and Community Committee make to LAC’s local mission partners, including: The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (Food Pantry); The Community Resource Center (CRC); HOPE Community Services; The Sharing Shelf; The Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center; At Home on the Sound; STEM Alliance Co-Op Summer Enrichment; Meals on Wheels; Washingtonville Housing Alliance; The Bridge Fund; and Bridges to Community.

Over the past two months, these Community Partners have participated in LAC’s worship services and shared information about their work with the congregation which led up to a Day of Service on March 12th.  Fifty LAC members participated in the Day of Service by volunteering with various projects to support these organizations.  Projects included activities such as sorting clothing at The Sharing Shelf, packing spice bags for the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force, making Welcome signs for the Co-Op Camp and cleaning and organizing at both HOPE and the CRC.

LAC is dedicated to serving the community and specifically their Mission Partners and encourages everyone to join their efforts by coming to the Rummage Sale.
