Women’s Club Features Sheldrake Environmental Center and Community Resource Center Presentations
As winter turns to spring, many of us wait with anticipation for the signs of spring to shake away the doldrums of winter. Spring is one of the most delightful seasons because it is so easy and comfortable to experience nature. Join Jennifer Keefe, executive director of Sheldrake Environmental Center, as she shares her love of the natural world in a free program sponsored by The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1:30pm.
Leaves budding, birds singing, butterflies migrating, and peepers peeping are some of the many joys at this time of year. Learn about some of the interesting flora and fauna we have in our area as well as the ways you can experience it at Sheldrake.
The program will be held at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Avenue. A small donation is appreciated to help support their philanthropic efforts.
Attendees should be fully vaccinated and wear a mask. Due to the state of COVID-19 virus and government regulations, this program may be changed to a Zoom presentation. Check the website www.womanscluboflarchmont.org/calendar/

Jirandy Martinez, executive director of the Community Resource Center, an organization which is a recipient of The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. Philanthropy Funds, will speak about her organization on Friday, March 25 during a program sponsored by The Club and open to the public. She describes the Center as a “major point of entry for immigrants into the larger community, second only to schools and medical providers and it offers a safe space for people to access their basic human needs through a staff that is fully bilingual and bicultural.”
The focus of this presentation will be on how the pandemic and Hurricane Ida has affected their community (including their own office space!) and their programs which address housing, wage theft, and health needs. Also possibly speaking will be a representative from the Washingtonville Housing Alliance to talk about the Mamaroneck Coalition for Affordable Housing, including their perspective on housing needs in their geographic area.
All are welcome to attend this free program to be held at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Ave., Larchmont at 1:30 PM.
