Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. Collects For Hope Food Pantry

Sr. Mary Alice Hannan of the Hope Community Food Pantry in New Rochelle was grateful for the generous contribution of food by the Woman’s Club of Larchmont.  Recently, she has received fewer donations perhaps due to the higher cost of food items.  As a result of the October club day donations and the community food drive on October 29th, 270 grocery items and $l30.00 was donated which is needed to purchase essential food items for their clients.

A special thanks to Carolyn Gallaher, Chairperson of the Philanthropy Committee and her assistants – Bev Nalven, Zsuzsannah Bean-Jonas, and Georgia Jessup – for collecting, sorting and delivering the donations. Thank you to Anne-Mieke Smeets for her photographs and to Sr. Mary Alice for arranging to open the food pantry so that delivery could be made immediately and smoothly to their New Rochelle location at St. Gabriel’s Church.

The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. supports civic and philanthropic organizations that contribute to the betterment of the community. The Club collects food and money donations for Hope at their monthly meetings at the Larchmont Avenue Church and at periodic community food drives.  The next scheduled food drive will be outside the Larchmont Avenue Church on Saturday, February l8th and Saturday, May 6th, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
