Woman’s Club Hosts an Armchair Visit to Ireland

Ireland is famed for its culture, poetry, drama, music, scenery and history. Yes, it’s really as green as they say, and this fabled island boasts everything from lively cities like Dublin and Galway to charming country villages as well as the spectacular wide-open scenery of the western lake district. On Friday, February 18, at 2:00pm, The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. invites the public to a presentation by Diane Munger Hechler about Ireland.

Dublin rightfully stands as the first city, and historic Trinity College, the Book of Kells, and a lively pub culture are all well-known attractions. This armchair visit will explore some great day trips from the capital, gradually moving west past Kilkenny and the rock of Cashel, to beautiful Killarney in the Lake country. The famed Ring of Kerry will be included, as well as the Dingle Peninsula and Kenmare, then following the coastal path north to Galway and exploring excursions to the Aran Islands and iconic Connemara. 

Diana Munger Hechler inherited a love of travel from her parents while living in Italy as a child. In 1999, she founded D. Tours Travel, a boutique travel company specializing in international vacations and cruises. She has been named to the top 25 Travel Agents List by Travel Agent Magazine. She has been very active in community affairs in Larchmont for many years. 

This free program will be held at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Ave., Larchmont at 2:00pm. A small donation is appreciated to help support their philanthropic efforts.

Attendees should be fully vaccinated and wear a mask. Note, due to the state of COVID-19 virus and government regulations, this program may be changed to a Zoom presentation.
