Mamaroneck Public Library Centennial Tree Planting

The Mamaroneck Public Library and the Village of Mamaroneck came together on Saturday, April 22nd, to celebrate the Mamaroneck Public Library’s Centennial with the planting of a white oak tree at the Rushmore Playground on the Orienta side of Harbor Island Park.

Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF) Kicks Off 49th Annual Bicycle Sundays Program

During Bicycle Sundays, bicyclists, skaters, joggers and walkers take over 6.5 miles of the Bronx River Parkway. The iconic event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sundays in May, June and September (except holiday weekends) on the Bronx River Parkway between the County Center in White Plains and Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, a round trip of just over 13 miles.  

Mamaroneck Public Library Fundraising Efforts Underway

In the wake of the most colossal challenge it has faced in a century of service, Mamaroneck Public Library has launched fundraising efforts to repair the damage. “We are working with forensic accountants to overhaul our accounting practices and trim the budget down as much as we can without affecting dedicated staff members or vital services,” stated Library Director Jennifer O’Neill, “but we are still left with a substantial shortfall. 

The 49th Annual Senior Artists Exhibit

This is the 49th year that art classes at The Larchmont Mamaroneck Senior Center are taught by artist Patricia Miner-Sutherland. 

Police Provide Tips to Residents on Personal Protection

On May 8,  the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Local Summit hosted police officials from the three local municipalities to discuss the best ways for residents to ensure their personal safety and protection. The speakers included Lt. Jason Florkowski and Det. Amy LaRosa (Town of Mamaroneck), Lt. Ron Knudsen and Det. Danielle Lent (Village of Larchmont) and Lt. P.J. Trujillo (Village of Mamaroneck). The meeting was conducted via Zoom and co-hosted by LMCMedia.

Sprint to Flint 5K and 1 Mile Run /Walk is Back

Larchmont Village Recreation Committee presents Sprint to Flint 5K & 1M Run/Walk,  back again for another exciting year. This year’s event will take place on Friday, June 9th, 2023, at Flint Park Playhouse, Locust Avenue, Larchmont, and will follow the same iconic route (with live music along the way) as in years past.  The 1 Mile starts at 6.30pm and the 5km at 7.15pm

Dr. Rafael A. Ortiz Joins White Plains Hospital as Executive Director of Neurosciences

White Plains Hospital (WPH) has announced that Dr. Rafael A. Ortiz has been named Executive Director of Neurosciences. In this role, Dr. Ortiz will work with physician, administrative and nursing leadership to enhance WPH’s capabilities as a tertiary level hospital for Neurosciences, working across inpatient and ambulatory programs. 

LMC Media Announces 6th Annual Tiki Invasion

LMC Media, in partnership with the Village of Mamaroneck Parks and Recreation, will once again host the wildly popular Tiki Invasion at Harbor Island Park on Friday, July 14th, beginning at 6pm. This free community event brings over 3000 people together from across the Sound Shore to enjoy food, drinks, a live band, fire dancers, and more. There will be activities for all ages and the Photo Bus is back this year by popular demand. The evening culminates with a movie screening under the stars — bring your best mates for this year’s movie, Pirates of the Caribbean! 

The Passing of Nora Morrow

Nora Essman Morrow, 70, of Larchmont, died on May 5, 2023. Her husband and son were in the room with her as she went peacefully.

Death of Albert Richard O’Neal Announced

Albert Richard O’Neal, Jr.,90, of Scituate, MA and formerly Camillus, NY, died on May 3, 2023.  He was the beloved husband for 65 years to Maureen E. (Fitzmaurice) O’Neal.
