MHS Future Business Leaders of America Bring Home the Gold

Mamaroneck High Schools’ (MHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) were named Chapter of the Year at the State Leadership Conference—the highest recognition possible! A total of 70 MHS students, representing all four grade levels, attended the conference and did an outstanding job representing the school.

“This is an incredible achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our students throughout the year,” said Maria Siciliano, FBLA Advisor and District 3S Board of Trustees member.

Eighteen students have qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference this summer in San Antonio, Texas. Zoe Zaumeyer and Arden Demasi were elected to the State Leadership Team, serving as Vice President and Treasurer, respectively.

Newly elected State Vice President Zoe Zaumeyer said FBLA has had a profound effect on her confidence and communication skills, from interviewing and public speaking to reaching out professionally for advice and information. “Being able to communicate my own opinions and ideas in a professional way is a skill I will take with me through life,” she said.

Those skills were put to the test at the conference, where Zoe delivered a campaign speech to her entire district. “Although I was nervous, I was able to use my confidence and ability to communicate to introduce myself as a candidate,” she said. “It was a moment that brought everything FBLA has taught me together.”

Newly elected State Treasurer Arden Demasi called the conference “an incredible experience,” saying she saw firsthand the dedication and passion of members across the state. “It truly showed me how impactful FBLA is as an organization,” she added.

In her new role, Arden plans to focus on increasing statewide fundraising opportunities through new partnerships and hopes to introduce financial literacy initiatives such as Zoom workshops on budgeting, saving, and money management. “I want to help members gain real-world financial skills,” she said.

The awards ceremony was a highlight of the conference for Arden, and seeing MHS take Chapter of the Year made it all the more meaningful. She encouraged MHS students to get involved, saying, “FBLA offers so many opportunities, whether it’s developing leadership skills, competing in events, or exploring career interests. There is truly something for everyone, and it helps prepare students for future success.”
