Sacred Heart Greenwich Announces Julia Stiker Named as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
Sacred Heart Greenwich announced on September 11 that Julia Stiker ‘25 was named a 2025 Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSC). Of the more than 1.3 million eligible high school juniors who entered the program, only 16,000 have been nationally recognized as Semifinalists.
The NMSC, a not-for-profit organization established in 1955, honors the nation’s scholastic champions who exemplify academic excellence. High school juniors enter the program through participation in the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test which was offered in October. Today’s list of Semifinalists represents the highest-scoring seniors in each state who will advance to the Finalist and Winner rounds which will be announced April through July 2025.
“Sacred Heart Greenwich is thrilled to announce that Julia Stiker ’25 has achieved national recognition as a 2025 Semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Program,” said Michael F. Baber, President of Sacred Heart Greenwich. “This prestigious honor reflects Julia’s unwavering dedication to her academic pursuits, and we are immensely proud of her outstanding accomplishment.”
NMSC Semifinalists who meet academic requirements will advance to the next step of the process of which 15,000 students are expected to be recognized as Finalists and 6,870 will be officially recognized as National Merit Scholarship winners.
